About Jess Riley
Jess grew up riding Arabians and Morgans and then had the opportunity start formal dressage lessons while in college at UVM. While at school Jess fell in love with Dressage and developed the skills to be hired as an assistant trainer upon graduation. She has since had the opportunity to work with a variety of horses and so she approaches each horse as an individual. Gymnastic exercises, classical principles, and a respect of the horse's mental and physical aptitudes all need to be considered when developing a training program. While Jess' primary focus has been on training, she has and does do some competing. Jess has received multiple Year End Awards, All Breeds Awards, and she does enjoy showing and taking customers to shows. Jess has been professionally training horses and riders for 25+ years. In 2011 Jess rode Des My Jordin Tammy, a 4 year old Cheval Canadian mare she started to a median training level score of 74% and the All Breeds Award. In 2013 Jess rode M3 Wolkenlilly, a 4yo Canadian Warmblood mare she also started, to a median training level score of 76%, 13th in the USDF for HOY, and the All Breeds Award. Lilly scored up to 80% and was only under saddle for 3 months prior to her showring debut. In 2019 Jess rode Wistful, a 5yo Canadian Warmblood mare she started, to a median training level score of 74%. Wistful and Jess never scored less than 70% , they were NEDA Year End Champion and they won the USDF All Breeds Award also. |
