Our Mission - and Our Horses

Make a Reservation
We decided to start a trail riding business in 2017 for multiple reasons.  Sure, we love sharing our love of horses with others and we saw a need in the area for this type of service...but we have a deeper purpose.  All of the horses used for trail riding have been pulled out of the auction pipeline.  Our goal is to save a few horses from the slaughter pen and to rehabilitate them, use them in the program for one or more seasons, and then sell them to forever loving homes once they’ve proven themselves to be reliable family type horses.  Then, we can start over and save a few more.

Meet our current Trail Horses

Spot

Spot is a 15 year old Paint gelding and he stands  15.3 hands high. Spot was named by an 8 year old little boy who used to ride him. He is an experienced trail horse who plays “follow the leader” the best. He is our A1 babysitter. He loves fudge brownies!  And as you can see he loves to pose for the camera.

Scout

Scout is our 8 year old Quarter Horse gelding and he stands 15.1 hands high. His name might make you think that he’s a tough guy but in fact he’s a total sweetheart. He likes apples but if given a choice he would rather cuddle and get petted than eat his treats.

Blue

Blue is likely an Arabian x QH and he is in his late teens.  He is one of the kindest horses you will ever meet and takes extra good care of his rider.  He has had some rough times in his day and is now enjoying the easy life at FEC. He loves carrots and cuddles.

Rascal

Rascal is an 18 year old draft cross pinto gelding and is 16.3 hands high. He is also called “crazy eye” because of the unique blue swirls in his eyes. They are called “watch eyes” and are common in pintos. Rascal loves carrots and has never met a person or horse he didn’t like.

Caesar

Caesar is a 17 year old WarmBlood gelding and he stands 16.3 hands high. Caesar has a regal bearing that fits his name. He has done a bit of everything in life; from sorting cows to jumping to teaching kids to ride. He loves milk shakes and is Rascal’s best friend.
