When the Dutch settled the area in the 1700’s Hudson was known as Claverack Landing. Today Claverack borders Hudson, NY. For centuries, horses were an integral part of life in Hudson and Claverack. Horses felled trees, pulled wagons of produce, drew plows, and carried riders.

​Hudson on Horseback at Friendship Equestrian Center offers you a chance to trail ride back into history.  Experience the serenity of Claverack’s wooded bridle paths and farmland during your trail riding lesson. Enjoy the rare experience of being immersed in the beauty and nature of the Hudson Valley  on horseback.

​We offer small group trail rides so each rider receives the attention required by our staff for an enjoyable and educational trail ride.  We seek for you to learn some trail riding fundamentals.  We hope that during your trail ride you develop a love for the area and for horseback riding.  We’re located less than five miles from Hudson, NY. Our guided horseback trail rides are limited to three riders at a time.
